The Friends of the Sacramento Crisis Nurseries is committed to
ensuring financial security and community support for the Sacramento
Crisis Nurseries.
Established in 1998, the Friends provide endless volunteer hours
to ensure financial stability so the nurseries can continue to offer
a safe haven for every parent and child who needs support. One of
the goals of the Friends is to raise money for the Crisis Nursery
Endowment, which was started with a gift from the Thomas P. Raley
Foundation. The goal is to raise sufficient funds so the Nursery
Endowment can pay for all future operations of the Sacramento Crisis
Nurseries.
The Friends have two primary functions:
Providing monetary support through
Raising public awareness of the Nurseries through
- Publication of the quarterly News from the Nurseries,
- Manning booths at health fairs and other community events
- Coordination of the Speaker's Bureau.
